Meet the staff - Claire Brownbill

Name: Claire Brownbill Staff role: Teacher and Additional Learning Support Worker How long have I worked at Riverside College: 8 years for Riverside College, 6 for the Foundation Studies department! Likes: Reading, computer games, spending time with my daughter and pizza! Dislikes: Heights!  One random fact about me: I did dance classes for 11 years; doing two performances a year and even ended up learning how to go up on pointe shoes in ballet classes! I'm not as graceful nowadays...

Learning from home!

Some of our students have been attending online virtual lessons and catch ups. Here are some of our students engaging in a conversation with each other and members of staff to help develop their social skills and communication skills. There have been a variety of lessons taking place such as Maths and English. If you would like to get involved with MS teams please contact your personal tutor. We also have a post on how to get set up on teams if you're struggling.

Meet the staff - Rachel Jardine

Rachel Jardine Staff role: Personal tutor  How long have I worked at Riverside College: 10 years Likes: teaching cooking, singing and dancing with the students, watching Netflix.   Dislikes: Baked beans! Absolute worst. So many foods I don’t like but I don’t class myself as a fussy eater….. One random fact about me: I have been in a choir for 8 years and every summer, we do a tour in a European country!

VE Day Celebrations - Eleanor Laing

Tomorrow marks the 75th Anniversary for VE Day. We hope you have attempted some of the activities we have shared on here and on SOLAR. One particular task has been making scones which our first year student Eleanor Laing has attempted! Well done Eleanor. They look fantastic! Here Eleanor is putting the skills she has developed in cooking to use! And here is Eleanor's finished result! Well done Eleanor! Fancy having a go yourself? Take a look at the below recipe! In celebration of VE day and the 75th anniversary this week; have a go at creating the bunting below. You can print it off and colour it in or have a go at redrawing it yourself. E-mail your tutors with any pictures of your attempts!
