World ocean day!


Competition time! 🌊

You are encouraged to create a fact file about the ocean! Please use lots of colours and pictures. 

You could create your fact file on a specific ocean in the world or lots of different oceans, maybe creatures that live in the ocean or a specific creature. What about thinking about the importance of our oceans and what people could do to protect them! 

In addition have you ever visited the ocean? Do you have pictures in or by the ocean let's see them. Email them in to your personal tutors! 

Closing date for this competition is June 8th 2020. You can send them in before this date if you wish to. 

Please send your entry to your personal tutor through your college e-mail!

Meet the staff - Sarah Lawrenson

Name: Sarah Lawrenson Staff role: Additional Learning Support Worker but was previously a tutor before having a family. How long have I worked at Riverside College: Since around 2006 (a very long time!!) Likes:  Storytime with my kids.  I enjoy trying new foods but will always be happy with a good classic burger and chips.  Family days out.  Time to myself to catch up with friends. Name: Claire Brownbill Staff role: Teacher and Additional Learning Support Worker How long have I worked at Riverside College: 8 years for Riverside College, 6 for the Foundation Studies department! Likes: Reading, computer games, spending time with my daughter and pizza! Dislikes: Heights!  One random fact about me: I did dance classes for 11 years; doing two performances a year and even ended up learning how to go up on pointe shoes in ballet classes! I'm not as graceful nowadays...
